BABs Centenary Monday 27th April 2027

UPDATED EVENT INFORMATION – BABS RETURN TO PENDINE SANDS (27 APRIL 2026)

Babs will return to Pendine Sands on 27 April 2026 to mark the centenary of Sir J.G. Parry-Thomas’ world land speed record, set here on the sands in 1926.

This special anniversary celebrates Pendine’s place in motoring history, when Parry-Thomas and his legendary car Babs helped put the village on the world stage. It promises to be a memorable day filled with heritage, engineering, and nostalgia as we honour one of the most iconic moments in British motorsport history.

UPDATED DETAILS:

  • We are anticipating a start time of approximately 12:00pm
  • The car will carry out two demonstration runs on the community-owned area of the beach
  • Spectators must follow all instructions from marshals and remain behind safety barriers at all times. This is essential to ensure the car can run safely and that the event can proceed

PARKING & ACCESS:

  • Beach parking will be available due to limited parking within the village
  • Parking on the beach will be £5.00 (cash only)
  • Please do not park on roads, as this causes congestion and may restrict access for emergency vehicles
  • We strongly advise arriving early to allow sufficient time to park and avoid missing the demonstration runs

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times
