Vacancy Beach Warden 2025
Pendine Community Council is looking to appoint two Beach & Community Wardens on a part-time basis. This is a unique opportunity to be the front-facing Community Council officer for day-to-day beach-related matters.
Flexibility, teamwork, and communication skills are essential to this role. The post holders will be a practical individual with strong initiative and a can-do attitude. The ability to undertake basic repairs and maintenance will be seen as advantageous.
You will be accountable to oversee the general safety and to enable the enjoyment of all beach users. This involves advising beach users of possible dangers that exist, providing information on local tides times, weather conditions, use of water-craft launching and the management of beach parking when the beach is open for parking.
This role will require the individuals to be a ‘professional witness’ for the Council in relation to problems associated with dog management. The post also involves the cleansing and maintenance of the beaches and surrounding areas to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment for beach visitors, residents and local businesses.
To oversee the organization (schedule of opening) and collection of beach parking fees, ensuring cash handling procedures are followed at all times (supported by the Clerk) including any collectors.
To support Pendine Community Council as required to inspect the Motor home park as part of daily patrol and report any issues observed.
Applicants must hold a full valid driving licence to be considered for this role.
